This is the beginning stage of design. We start with desired spaces and begin to assign importance to them. The importance might be driven by usage, view corridors, outdoor accessibility, proximity to each other, pure aesthetics and/or budget. It is in this phase that we are identifying all the moving parts that a project has and how we need, or want, to respond. It is like being given a bag of puzzle pieces and there might be several solutions within the puzzle pieces. We get to help find the best solution for the client.
